The way people and goods move is being redesigned, and the decisions made today will shape how cities function, how economies compete, and how people live for the next several decades.
Electric vehicles, autonomous systems, connected infrastructure and urban air mobility, are no longer concepts on a roadmap, they are investments being made, pilots being run, and policies being written. The question is no longer whether smart mobility will arrive, it is who will be ready to lead it.
From Concept to Test Track
At SPARK, we have always believed that the most important distance in innovation is the distance between an idea and a working prototype. That belief is what led us to host uSky Transport, a company building next-generation suspended transport systems, right here at the park. uSky’s test and certification centre in Sharjah has become one of the region’s most tangible demonstrations that future mobility is operational, testable, and ready to scale.
We have also welcomed Lightyear to SPARK, unveiling the world’s first long-range production-ready solar electric vehicle in the UAE as part of a formal MoU. The UAE is already among the world’s leading producers of solar power, which makes it the ideal environment to test and validate solar mobility solutions. Having Lightyear at SPARK was a statement about where the UAE stands in the global transition to clean transportation.
From Vehicles to Systems
The most important shift in mobility thinking is the move from individual vehicles to integrated systems. A smart city does not just have electric cars, it has charging infrastructure, traffic intelligence, logistics networks, and data platforms that communicate in real time. Building this ecosystem requires cross-sector collaboration between technology companies, urban planners, energy providers, regulators, and research institutions.
This is precisely the kind of collaboration that SPARK was designed to enable. We bring together companies working across the mobility value chain, from vehicle technology and autonomous systems to smart infrastructure and logistics platforms, to develop, test, and scale solutions that can move from the UAE to regional and global markets.
Sustainability at the Core
Mobility and sustainability are inseparable. Transportation accounts for a significant share of global emissions, and the transition to clean, connected, and efficient mobility systems is central to the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions. This creates both a mandate and an opportunity for companies that are building the solutions the transition requires.
The opportunity is not simply to adopt electric vehicles or retrofit existing infrastructure, it is to rethink mobility from the ground up, designing systems that are cleaner, smarter, more equitable, and more resilient than what they replace.
The road ahead is being designed right now. At SPARK, we intend to help build it.
