Mudassir Sheikha began his career at Trilogy Software and later joined Brience, a San Francisco-based startup, during the dot-com boom. He became part of the founding team at DeviceAnywhere, where he led offshore development in Pakistan. Following its acquisition by Keynote Systems, Mudassir joined McKinsey & Company in Dubai as a management consultant.
In 2012, he left McKinsey to co-found Careem with Magnus Olsson, aiming to simplify lives and inspire through technology. What started as a regional ride-hailing app became the leading tech platform in the Middle East, operating in 70+ cities across 10 countries, with over 2.5 million registered drivers and a team of 1,600+ colleagues.

Mudassir holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Southern California and earned a Master’s in Computer Science with a focus on Databases from Stanford University.
His passion lies in building purpose-driven organizations, and when not working, he enjoys spending time with his four daughters and exploring how to scale values-based leadership across high-growth businesses.
