H.E Dr. Abdulaziz Saeed bin Butti Al Muhairi

H.E. Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed Obaid Bin Butti Almheiri serves as Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, Sharjah Healthcare City Authority (SHCC), and the Board of Trustees of University Hospital in Sharjah. He also chairs the Higher Medical Committee for Retirement and the Medical Committee of the Sharjah Government.

In addition, he is a board member of the Emirates Health Services Establishment, the UAE Health Council, the Emirates Food Security Council, and Sharjah Football Club. In the voluntary sector, he chairs the Judging Panel of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (since 2019).

As Director of the Health Regulation Department at the Sharjah Health Authority, Dr. Almheiri played a key role in strengthening health licensing and regulation. His efforts helped Sharjah become the first WHO-recognized Healthy City in the Middle East in 2015, and again in 2021. He also contributed to developing Sharjah Healthcare City, the investment arm of the Authority.

He holds an MBBS from United Arab Emirates University and a Master’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health from Monash University in Australia.
