Sharjah Ruler visits 3D printed homes construction site at SRTI Park

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, congratulated the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) on the construction of the first house of architectural heritage with the three-dimensional (3D) printing techniques at the Park’s complex.

This came during His Highness’ visit to the headquarters of the Park, where he was briefed by the SRTI Park’s supervisors and officials on the project’s progress and the latest developments and techniques used in the implementation of the project, highlighting the importance of the partnerships between the Park and other developed companies and academic institutions.

During the visit, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah listened from those who are in charge of the SRTI Park about the new project’s details, stressing that the Park works to attract international companies specialising in the construction of buildings with three-dimensional printing techniques, as the first house is to be built with heritage architecture using this technology, which is one of the latest technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution related to construction, in cooperation with (Cybe) Dutch company which is one of the most prominent companies that is specialised in this technology globally.

This project comes as part of the cooperation between the government, private and academic sectors.

The entire house will be built with the latest art technology, designed emulating the heritage of the UAE, seeking to foster Sharjah’s status as a preferred destination for this type of building techniques and future architecture.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi met with a number of research students from the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah, urging them to seize this opportunity and learn more from the SRTI Park’s partnerships with various leading research, technological and innovative institutions.

His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park stressed the importance of launching this ambitious project which translates the vision and strategy of the Academy by introducing all types of future technologies and partnership between the government, private and academic sectors.

Al Mahmoudi stressed on Sharjah’s pioneer status that promotes the attraction of different leading specialised international companies, contributing in enhancing the emirate’s economy.
