Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park launches Ramadan courses in 3D printing for school and university students

The courses to be held from April 12 seek to train students in future skills in advanced laboratories

Sharjah, April 6, 2022 – The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation (SRTI) Park is launching special courses in 3D printing for school and university students from April 12 by throwing open the doors of its laboratories to students  during the holy month of Ramadan.

The three-day intensive courses are designed to allow students to explore new topics and learn innovative future skills in 3D printing techniques.  They will learn how to print on plastics through high-end devices. In addition there will be workshops in design and programming processes to create innovative products, using this modern technology.

The courses will be held at the Sharjah Open Lab for Innovation (SoiLAB) starting for a period of three consecutive days.

SRTI Park was designed on highest international standards of building modern technology parks. One of its components is the Middle East Test Center for Smart Manufacturing or what is called additive manufacturing. Amensa Technology Laboratories was among the first to join. The idea is to provide students, researchers and innovators with the latest technologies at a nominal cost, in addition to attracting international companies in those sectors.

His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park has invited parents to enrol their children in these new courses and workshops, so that they could see the latest 3D printing technologies that represent future professions. The laboratory contains advanced industrial techniques that are critical to the fourth industrial revolution.

Al Mahmoudi said, “The launch of such technical courses and training workshops is part of the complex’s strategy on the lines of best practices and highest international standards used in building technology parks, with a focus on water technology, environmental technology, renewable energy, transportation technology, industrial design and architecture”.
