Sharjah, March 5, 2019 – A seminar was held at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) for the well-known figures of the business world in Sharjah. The focus of this session was SRTI Park's vision towards a knowledge economy based on supporting applied scientific and technological research to carry out investment activities.
This is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to make Sharjah a global capital for scientific research and innovation.
During the presentation, His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, briefed the participants on the approach of the park and its steps towards on achieving the required progress and success through global partnerships and presence in most of the world's innovative forums to search for the best experiences and centers.
Many of these research centers have started building their base in SRTI Park.
He also talked about the university students, researchers and graduates and how the park can cater to their needs and employ them appropriately. He called on government institutions in Sharjah and the private sector to discuss how to invest in this sector in the future.
The construction of SRTI Park’s headquarter building has begun, the first stage of it will be completed by early 2020. The main building will have offices of investors and scientific laboratories for research and development.
The park’s management has already moved to the site offices.
SRTI Park’s most important achievements, the international companies working within the park and research projects were discussed.
The plans are based on the development of a system of solutions and innovations in various areas of life to facilitate the life of humanity and for a sustainable future through the best use of resources
The park aims to serve the national economy and contribute to the promotion of the educational and research process in Sharjah. This is to form a new era for knowledge investment in the region as a preferred destination for international investment research organization. These organizations will get easy access to all vital and logistical facilities in the emirate and in the UAE and high-level infrastructure with international standards.
SRTI Park seeks to strengthen its position on the map of future institutions, and stimulate and attract specialized investments in technology, research, innovation and knowledge to transform Sharjah into a leading global center for innovation, research and entrepreneurship.
Through these meetings, SRTI Park’s hopes to establish strong partnerships with all local business sectors and launch quality partnerships that stimulate investments in R & D.
The meeting included a comprehensive dialogue between the audience and the management of the of the park, asking questions, expressing their admiration for the progress achieved by SRTI Park in a short period of time.
